Saturday October 2nd saw 230 community members meeting with several community leaders in the civil and nonprofit sectors to discuss needs faced by the Immigrant and Refugee communities of Portland. Poignant topics were raised that led to productive discussions. Each group then had a few chances to work separately with their individual communities to define the greatest needs and priorities within their communities.
The Conference was extremely productive and IRCO is proud to have been part of such a vital community event.
The next step is to compile all of the data gathered that day and produce some goals for the communities and agencies to make Portland better for all.
We thank all of the speakers, facilitators, volunteers and staff who made the day possible as well as all of the community leaders who came out to speak candidly and productively on their communities needs.
