On April 11th, the students from Portland YouthBuilders' World CLASS began a service project at IRCO's Africa House. The immigrant and refugees primarily from Somalia, Ethiopia and Eritrea expressed a desire to have garden spaces at their community center at IRCO’s Africa House, and Pangaea's PYB students stepped in to fill the need.

For the last several weeks they have been preparing the ground, moving plants and constructing raised beds.Loaves and Fishes Center Manager, Robert Bradley, will assist the students and IRCO’s Africa House community with seed and crop selection and we hope to put seeds in the soil in the next couple of weeks. IRCO’s Lori Rooney is heading up the project.
