E-mail Print PDF

IRCO’s RVT prepares 100 eligible refugee adults residing in the Tri-County area for employment in the fields of child care or care giving, providing these adults with skills necessary for advancement and high wages in these occupations.  Funded through the Oregon State Refugee Program, IRCO’s RVT is offered at IRCO’s Skill Center and reflects a strong collaboration with community partners playing a leadership role in the health care field.  These partners include both employers (Prestige Care, Inc. and Marquis) and training institutions (e.g., Cascade Medical School and WorkSource Centers).  For more information, please contact Program Coordinator Tina Do at (503) 253-4042.

Pre Employment Training (PET)

E-mail Print PDF

PET facilitates the early employment and self-sufficiency of newly-arrived refugees through the development of the participants’ job-seeking and job-retention skills.  Funded through the Oregon State Refugee Program, PET works with refugees active in IRCO’s New Arrival Employment Services program to develop English language and pre-employment skills.  PET helps over 850 refugees annually to develop everyday life skills needed to participate in the competitive U.S. employment market and operate effectively in their new homeland.

For more information, please contact Program Coordinator Damayanthi Fernando at (503) 234-1541.
